RISD WS 2024_Intro To Computation
For my final project, I continued to explore the theme of windows in Processing, shifting the focus from weather observation to the privacy of people's lives. The environment is set up as a viewer, a person interacting with the program, to peer through their own window into the lives of others across the street. There are a total of 11 windows, each with a unique story.
As the viewer looks across the street, the windows light up at specific times, revealing the private routines of the occupants between evening and early morning. I placed a clock in the bottom left corner of the viewer's window frame, which serves a crucial role in the interaction – when the viewer clicks on a closed window blind, the blind is removed, and also, the clock stops, freezing the moment in time. This reveals at what time each neighbor turns on the light in their room, offering insights into their routines.
This project is about the interconnectedness of our lives as we become observers of other people's private moments.
